There has been strong figures released again on like for like sales for the top branded restaurants in the UK according to Big Hospitality.  The largest restaurant chains are thriving in difficult conditions and again are outperforming the previous year.

The top 10 restaurant groups which include the likes of Nando’s, Pizza Hut, JD Wetherspoon account for a reported £7.3bn. Although the concepts which make up the top 10 are more casual, quick service restaurants there has also been an increase in the turnover of full service restaurants on previous year with the likes of Pizza Express, Jamie’s Italian and Cote Restaurants all in growth.

The sector is booming and with new concepts coming on to the market all the time, things are going from strength to strength.  Byron Hamburgers is a great example of a new concept that is growing all the time.  Over the past 3 years they have expanded at a rapid rate.  Part of the Gondola group, in 2009 they had 6 restaurants.  They are now operating at over 25 as well as pop up stands at festivals and exhibitions as well as growing the brand outside of London.
